This sacrament is available at any time by calling Father Michael. Anointing of the Sick is recommended any time someone is hospitalized, before surgery, and at times of serious and/or chronic illness.
The Graces of Anointing
of the Sick
Previously known as Last Rites, the Sacrament of the Sick is highly recommended for anyone who may be near death. This sacrament unites a sick person’s suffering with that of Jesus and brings forgiveness of sins. Oil, a symbol of strength, is the sign of this sacrament. A person is anointed with oil and receives the laying on of hands from a priest.
"If anyone is sick among you let them call for the priests of the Church. They will anoint them with oil, and the Lord will lift them up again."
James 5:14
